Your Responsibilities
- Prepare and supervise food production according to standard recipes and the set menu cycle, ensuring compliance with Uniworld and HACCP hygiene procedures.
- Create and supervise show plates in coordination with the Sous Chef.
- Ensure food presentation is elegant, at the right temperature and texture, and always excellent in taste.
- Minimize food waste and overproduction, monitor timing of dishes, and report issues to the Sous Chef or Executive Chef.
- Organize work and manage time according to daily programs, events, and assigned schedules.
- Ensure smooth cooperation with the rest of the galley team for efficient service.
- Maintain cleanliness of your workstation and all assigned areas, adhering to hygiene guidelines.
- Handle culinary supplies, equipment, and materials responsibly, following procedures for FIFO, labelling, and temperature control.
- Handle culinary materials and equipment, ensuring proper maintenance and care.
- Report defective materials, equipment, or premises damage to the Executive Chef or Front Desk.
- Own and report guest special requests or complaints directly to the Executive Chef.
- Ensure compliance with GRC regulations on maximum working hours, maintaining accurate records.
- Assist in loading supplies, luggage distribution, and seasonal ship preparations.
- Ability to work as part of a team while delivering high-quality guest service.
- Contribute to ship preparation during end-of-season close-down and start-of-season set-up.
- Actively participate in assigned learning activities, training sessions, and mandatory safety or emergency drills.
- Demonstrate strong proficiency in English.
