Your Responsibilities
  • Maintain and operate all technical installations, systems, and interiors in full working order, following manufacturer instructions.
  • Conduct daily inspections of propulsion, electrical, freshwater, HVAC, sewage, and wastewater systems, adjusting as required.
  • Monitor and record fuel, ballast water, and freshwater levels daily in MX Suite.
  • Manage technical administration and reporting in MX Suite/MXP in coordination with the captain.
  • Order spare parts, stores, repairs, and services using company documentation and systems.
  • Prepare repair and dry-dock work lists, including winter maintenance planning.
  • Oversee and verify work performed by sub-contractors or service engineers.
  • Implement safe and compliant bunkering procedures.
  • Oversee the maintenance of our ships during the season and in winter
Specific Requirements
  • Ensure all technical operations comply with local, national, and nautical regulations, as well as company policies.
  • Take full responsibility for safety and security of technical installations as outlined in the Nautical Technical Manual.
  • Always carry a Walkie-Talkie; in case of alarm, use channel 1 unless instructed otherwise.
  • Support the Captain in enforcing company regulations, policies, and guidelines.
  • Maintain close communication with the Technical Department at head office on repair and maintenance needs.
  • Share duties equally with other Engineers of the same rank when on board.
  • Safeguard compliance with safety standards during inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and timely reporting of technical issues.
  • Assigned learning activities, training sessions, and mandatory safety and emergency drills.
  • Ideally have experience with Z-Drive systems, an advantage, but not required.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and/or German, additional languages are an asset.
