Your Responsibilities
- Provide Strategic Leadership for all technical functions across the fleet, ensuring operational excellence, safety, and sustainability in line with corporate objectives.
- Maintain Fleet Integrity by ensuring all vessels are technically reliable, compliant, and maintained to the highest safety and environmental standards.
- Oversee Maintenance & Repairs to minimize operational disruptions and protect the guest experience.
- Manage Energy & Fuel Strategy, including procurement, cost optimization, and hedging where appropriate.
- Drive Innovation & Sustainability Initiatives to improve efficiency, reduce emissions, and support long-term environmental goals.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally with New Build, Hotel, Nautical, Finance, and Administration departments to ensure alignment and operational synergy.
- Ensure Financial Stewardship through effective budgeting, forecasting, and performance monitoring.
- Oversee Regulatory Compliance, maintaining all ship certificates and technical documentation up to date.
- Lead Risk & Crisis Management, ensuring prompt communication and response to any technical incidents affecting safety or operations.
- Champion Company Values by fostering a culture of accountability, professionalism, and collaboration across all technical teams.
- Advanced technical and management education, or equivalent extensive practical experience in a related field.
- Proven experience in a senior management or leadership role, ideally within small to mid-sized companies operating in inland waterways, cruise, or cargo environments in an international context.
- Strong understanding of current trends, innovations, and technical advancements in key ship systems and components.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with extensive experience working effectively across cross-functional and multicultural teams.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams while fostering a culture of accountability and professionalism.
- Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly and manage complex employee relations and conflict situations with confidence and composure.
- Strong command of English and German; knowledge of Dutch and/or French is considered an advantage.
- Willingness to be available outside regular office hours in case of emergencies.
- Regular travel expected, including occasional short-notice assignments.
