Your Responsibilities
- Maintain all technical installations, systems, and interior areas in full working condition per manufacturer instructions.
- Ensure compliance with maritime, national, and company regulations; report any deviations to the Captain.
- Conduct daily inspections of propulsion, electrical, HVAC, freshwater, and wastewater systems, adjusting as required.
- Record daily fuel, ballast water, and freshwater levels in MX Suite / MXP.
- Maintain records of all maintenance, repairs, and technical reports, including Fuel & Lubricating Oils and Daily Repair Books.
- Manage spare parts, consumables, and repair orders; supervise subcontractor work.
- Implement bunkering procedures and prepare winter repair and dry-dock lists.
- Ensure technical safety and security compliance per the Nautical Technical Manual; always carry a Walkie-Talkie.
- Support the Captain with company policy implementation and coordinate responsibilities with other engineers.
- Valid STCW Engineer’s License or equivalent certification.
- Experience as Second or Assistant Engineer, ideally on cruise or passenger vessels.
- Strong knowledge of propulsion, electrical, HVAC, and wastewater systems.
- Skilled in MX Suite / MXP or similar maintenance software.
- Familiar with HACCP, SOLAS, and ISM requirements.
- Excellent troubleshooting, repair, and reporting skills.
- Strong organizational and teamwork abilities under pressure.
- High sense of safety, responsibility, and attention to detail.
- Assigned learning activities, training sessions, and mandatory safety and emergency drills.
- Ideally have experience with Z-Drive systems, an advantage, but not required.
- Excellent communication skills in English and/or German, additional languages are an asset.
