Your Responsibilities
- Stand wheel watch when ships are on automatic pilot and verify accuracy of courses.
- Handle mooring lines to secure vessels to wharfs, other vessels, or rig towing lines.
- Stand gangway watch in port to prevent unauthorized boarding.
- Operate, maintain, and repair deck equipment, e.g., winches, cranes, derricks.
- Load and unload materials from vessels safely and efficiently.
- Support colleagues as a proactive team player wherever help is needed.
- Uphold safety, service, and operational standards always.
- Gain valuable experience in luxury river cruise operations.
- Travel to some of the most spectacular destinations in Europe.
- Innovative, proactive, and service-oriented team player with strong problem-solving skills.
- Take full responsibility for safety and security.
- Always carry a Walkie-Talkie; in case of alarm, use channel 1 unless instructed otherwise.
- Support the Captain in enforcing company regulations, policies, and guidelines.
- Share duties equally with other Engineers of the same rank when on board.
- Safeguard compliance with safety standards during inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
- Ensure accurate documentation and timely reporting of technical issues.
- Assigned learning activities, training sessions, and mandatory safety and emergency drills.
- Good communication skills in English additional German is an advantage.
